Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins is the Mexican American broadcaster. She is currently an ESPN sportscaster. ESPN and is an anchor of SportsCenter as well as hosting SportsNation. Since 2016, Collins has was a part of ESPN. Her mother is Maria Antonieta Collins, a television reporter. Antonietta has been bilingual since the age of nine. Her ability was crucial in helping her land her first position as producer assistant at Univision Miami in which she was a producer of programs including Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. Then she was promoted to an reporter at The CBS St. Petersburg affiliate in the following year. After 2009, the news reporter moved from St. Petersburg to Rio Grande Valley Texas where she worked for KNVO TV 48 Univision as well as Fox2 News. Covering stories on immigration and drug-trafficking on both sides of the border, she was an anchor for five minutes of the p.m. Spanish newscast a reporter and later anchor of anchoring the 9 p.m. newscast, which was in English as well as another reporter for the news at 10:30 p.m. Spanish newscast. In addition, she was frequently required to act as an anchor for sports and weather. She then anchored and reported on Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was given more responsibilities. She wrote on sports like the NBA, Dallas Cowboys' postseason games, NBA ALDS ALCS World Series or Finals FC Dallas. In addition, she hosted her own local Univision 23 sports show Accion Deportiva Extra. She became a sports host on the morning show of Despierta America Deportes. It was the same role as a sports anchor for Primer Impacto magazine and Contacto Deportivo for the UniMas Network. Antonietta Collins' parents were originally from Veracruz Mexico. Eventually, they settled in Mexico City and she was born there on November 22 in 1985. She has an elder sister. Her family left in 1992 Mexico and moved to Miami. Within a brief time her father separated from her mother. She was subsequently remarried by 1995 naval architect whose name was Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo passed away from kidney cancer in 2006. While on a trip with the family in Ohio, younger Collins took a place with her older sister. Antonietta was an incoming senior in high school however, she had a very clear vision of what she wanted to do in her future career. She visited Mount Union University in order to find out if the school was suitable for her. It was an amazing campus. It also gave her the program she was interested in. Her high school graduation was in the spring of 2004 and was enrolled in media studies at the University. Her relationship lasted for a while with her instructor Mark Bergmann who was the director at WRMU 91.1 FM of which she was a part. Mark Bergmann inspired her to be self-confident and his enthusiasm in journalism was a huge influence on her. She, was determined to meet his expectations and never let him down.
